Pet Peeves

Mama’s Losin’ It

I love this blog and every Tuesday she posts writing prompts and then on Thursday you link them up on her blog so you can read what others wrote about and they can read what you wrote about, pretty cool right? I decided this is something I am going to start doing every Wednesday, starting now!

The prompt I chose for the week is: One pet peeve that shouldn't drive you crazy, but does.

This shouldn't be hard for me at all. I have quite a few pet peeves......I know, I'm a horrible person. But seriously, people drive me nuts most of the time. Besides the usual pet peeves like people not using their turn signal when driving, leaving the lights on in the room you just left, chewing with your mouth open, people who cut in line at the amusement park and pretend to be oblivious to it, throwing your dirty clothes right NEXT to the dirty clothes hamper instead of IN it....(I could go on and on, really, I'm that horrible) I think I'm gonna go with the pet peeve that is bothering me the most right now: Leaving the empty roll of toilet paper on the toilet paper holder and putting the new roll of toilet paper on the counter-top RIGHT NEXT to the toilet paper roll holder.

I KNOW you all know what I'm talking about.......this is a horrible atrocity in our house. Horrible I tell you (as I'm writing this I'm constantly "peeved" by my husbands antics in the kitchen: "why are you putting that hot pan in the sink and running water on it? you're not supposed to do that" and "why are you drinking out of the juice container when you just said you think you may be coming down with something?" To this my husband replies: "You're whole life is a pet peeve isn't it?" And I giggle....because, yes, yes it is)

Alright, back to the reason I started this in the first place: the empty toilet paper roll.

This annoys me to no end. I even purposely avoid placing the new roll of toilet paper (that is conveniently sitting on the counter-top) on the empty holder in hopes someone else may get the hint and do it themselves. But do they? No!

While I realize this causes me needless grief, for some reason, I still allow myself to get all bent out of shape over it. But no more! As of today, I am a changed woman. From here on out, I will replace that gosh darn empty toilet paper roll with the new roll (that is sitting directly next to it on the counter-top) and not make any snide comments afterward. Now that I have this in writing (and my husband reads my blog) I have no choice but to stick to it.

1 pet peeve down, 43.6 to go!

Thanks for reading!!! I love your comments!
