Hope, and my sons.

Mama's Losin' It
Mama Kat's writing prompts: April is National Poetry Month, write a poem about Hope.

I have two young sons
I hope they know
That I really love them so.
(something fierce I tell ya)
See, someday they'll grow
And be big and strong,
and one day they'll bring
another girl along.
(and she better be worthy of them, or else!)
And that girl,
if she's the "one,"
will take the place
of this old Mom.
(a sad day, but inevitable...)
I hope hope hope
when that day comes
I'll be strong...and won't hang on.
Cause someday they have to grow....

I just hope
that day
doesn't come
too soon.

  1. Aww Em... how true is that! I have one son and I hope, hope, hope I love the girls he chooses someday:) But in the meantime let's keep holding their hands and enjoy that they think we are the best "girl" in the world to them (now!).

  3. So sweet! What a great Mom, like mine, whom only wanted the best for her child. Loved the picture and the surprise ending. Hold on tight, they grow so fast. Wonderful post!

  4. Oh my gosh! So true. I am NOT in hurry to get my kids grown and gone. I love every minute (mostly) and know I will be SO sad each time one leaves the nest. MY BABIES!
