Silly Saturday

This morning, the boys and I (the hubs is included in "the boys") went to our local Kohls to do a bit of shopping. They were having a monster sale and I had a coupon on top of that, so how could I resist? (We ended up spending $90 and saved $180, not bad!) (though I'm pretty positive they mark stuff WAY up so that they can mark it WAY down and tell you you saved a TON of money which in turn makes you want to come back just to see the "total saved" at that bottom of your incredibly long receipt, but that's just my opinion)

wow, I got off topic. Alright, where was I? Oh, yeah. The boys and I....shopping....

So, after the boys all got something new, the hubs suggested I look at the bags and see if there was one I wanted.

Let's take a second to pause and recognize the fact that the hubs loves me enough and knows me well enough to suggest I go look at the bags. Incredible that man.

Alright, so I'm perusing the merchandise and find a few I like, which happen to NOT be included in the awesome sale. Of course, that's how it always works. I have a knack for finding the most expensive thing. But then, I spot this really really cute bag, in a cute print, with red details and it happened to be on clearance (I love red...and prints....and anything that can double as a diaper bag.....and this one covered all the bases). I show the bag to the hubs and say "what do you think of this one?"

His reply: "Do you have any outfits that will go with it?"

I just stood there and smiled. And giggled a little.
Because honestly, it was a really really cute thing to say.
He was obviously raised by women.
After I was done looking at him and thinking about how cute he was, I replied:
"It's a bag, you don't have to match your outfit to your bag silly!"

The man tries, he tries real hard. I love it.

And that my friends, is why this post is titled "Silly Saturday."

Do you have anything silly to share? Cause I love to laugh!

Me (noticing Elliot being a total space cadet): "Hey Elliot, you okay? What are you thinking about?"

Elliot (comes back to Earth from outer space & smiles at me): "You mommy, I'm thinkin' 'bout you!"

Sweetness. Total sweetness.

Silly Saturday

This week, our Welsh Corgi Sammy twisted his leg while doing his duty rounding up the vacuum (he's a herding dog by nature....and for some reason, while I vacuum he feels the need to herd me and the vacuum) so he's been limping around. He's actually quite good on 3 legs =)
Every chance Elliot gets to talk about Sammy, he mentions that he's "broken."
"Mommy, Sammy's broken."
"Mommy, Sammy's still broken."
"Mommy, Sammy is broken. He's still broken."

He got attacked by Jelly Bean stickers....
This is what I've been hearing for the last 3 days. Poor dog, he's going to have a complex by the time he isn't "broken" anymore.

Somewhere along the line, Elliot learned how to be really polite. I don't recall really drilling this stuff into him, but he says "please" and "thank you" and "your welcome" etc very willingly and without be prompted. It melts my heart every.single.time.

The other day, I handed him his juice cup and he said:
"Thanks Mommy, I appreciate it."

 Melts.my heart.

Have a great weekend!!!!

Silly Saturday

Elliot: "Look Mommy, it's Elmo" (as he sits a stuffed Elmo next to me on the couch)
Me: "Oh yeah? What's Elmo doing?"
Elliot: "Oh, he's just chillin'"
------------

Elliot: "I sure do love you Mommy"

-------------

Elliot, after having a time out: "Can I have some popcorn? I think that will help. Can you get my stairs so I can look at it? Then we can watch a movie and chill."

Have a great weekend!
Thanks for stopping by =)

Silly Saturday

I think he looks like an ewok =)

We have been dog-sitting Elvis for my in-laws this week. He is quite the change from our excitable, rowdy, bossy welsh corgi. Elliot has really enjoyed having Elvis around, mainly because he can hold the leash when we go on walks, something he can't do with his own dog (did I mention Sammy our corgi is excitable?).

Elliot was holding the leash while walking Elvis a couple days ago and he really wanted to take Elvis on his little 5 foot dirt trail detour that he likes to call his "hike" (so funny to me!).
After he finished his 10 second "hike" he said

"That was awesome!"
and then proceeded to point out the fire hydrant to Elvis and say:
"This is a microwave Elvis"

Silly. Silly. S.i.l.l.y.
I finished our walk repeating it over and over in my head so I wouldn't forget to write it down =)

Have a fantastic weekend! I am really looking forward to ours!
Thanks SO MUCH for stopping by!

Silly Saturday!

I know you're all dying, just DYING, to know what Elliot said this week that was worthy of a blog post. Well, this is the one that I remember the most.

Elliot: "Hey mommy, I need you to clean ma mouth"
me: "Why?"
Elliot: "Cause it hurts"
me: "Why does it hurt?"
Elliot: "Cause I got hiccups......"

who knew? hiccups make your mouth dirty.

Have a SUPER weekend!

Silly Saturday

I call my husband "babe" more than I call him anything else. Elliot has really caught on to this. Proof?

Elliot (while opening the cupboards): "Hey babe, get me some crackers."

I rest my case.

Have a great weekend!!!
Thanks for stopping by!!!

Silly Saturday!

Elliot has been saying the most ridiculous things. No really. He talks about Spiderman (aka "Fiderman") and Buzz (Lightyear) being best friends.

We walk past fire hydrants and he hugs them and says "I like this microwave."

He sees a mosquito hawk in the house and says: "Eww, I don't like bugs. I like snakes. I like mommy snakes. I like mommy bugs. I like daddy bugs."

But yesterday he said this, and it was funny:
"This little piggy went to market.
This little piggy had fun,
This little piggy had peanut butter crackers....."
(at this point I start to giggle profusely which makes him start too so he decides to finish it off)
YEAH! I did it!!!!"

Another Silly Saturday in my house.

Thanks for reading! Have a great weekend!!

Silly Saturday

Elliot (my 2.5 year old) says a lot of funny things. I am constantly being told he has a huge vocabulary for his age.....and let me tell you, he does. One of the all time silliest things he has said (and yes, I write all these things down because how fun is it to look in a book and laugh your buns off at the things children say? I mean, who DIDN'T watch at least one episode of "Kids say the darndest things?") is:

"Whoa, look at those big buns!" (While walking behind his daddy, of course there is the obligatory butt pat as well.)
I find this hilarious for many reasons.
  1. My hubby is 6'3 and 180.....he has no buns to speak of
  2. I say this to my hubby all the time jokingly, obviously Elliot thinks it's hilarious which means I'm hilarious of course
  3. I'm the one with the big buns in the house....but Elliot obviously hasn't caught on to that yet :)

Thanks for reading! I love your comments!!!! Have a great weekend!!

Silly Saturday: The silly sayings of a little man named Elliot

While deep cleaning my kitchen, I was listening to my 2 sons make a complete mess of the living room and of course, listening to the random silly things Elliot my 2.5 year old says to his little brother Caleb, who is 10 months. This is what I overheard:

"Caleb, no! That's MY firetruck!"
(Caleb: calm and quiet, allows Elliot to rip the firetruck out of his hands)
"Caleb, you can't play with that, it will make your bottom hurt."

Yup, that's them, in all their silly glory. You know what else I heard Elliot say the other day?
"With my mind. On my money. And my money. On my Cabies."
(We call Caleb "Cabies" on occasion...)

If you want to see some really silly sayings from a little girl named Ruby and a silly boy named Kiefer, who just happen to be my niece and nephew, you should check out my sister's blog (which she never updates and hasn't updated for awhile....*cough cough* *hint hint*)

Have a great weekend!
